I got everything I wanted out of this graphic novel bind-up. Rick and Morty forever!Super excited to start the second bind-up.
Rick and urrrrppppp Morty Just like the show Classic Rick and Morty actions and the dialogue is epic. Totally recommend for any fans. This is awesome Now go focus on science and quit b-b-b-bothering me Morty you little S**t!!!
Wubba Lubba Dub Dub...Like the tv show? Like comics? Boy do we have something for you. Rick and Morty stories almost as good as the show itself. It's like reading an sci fi anthology. Just a fair warning. Some of the stories are good. Some of the art looks like middle school class participation winners.
Pretty easy to review. If you like Rick and Morty you will like these. It's basically just more episodes and shorts from the show, but in a new format. If you do not like Rick and Morty, these will not appeal to you. If you read the DnD Rick and Morty graphic novel and was mad about everyone being out of character don't worry, this is a vehicle for the show, not for another franchise- everyone is more on brand.
As bonkers and hilarious as the cartoon which methinks (meseeks?) is high praise. I will definitely keep following this title.
*Buuuurp* We're a comic Morty. A Comic!Containing 10 volumes of the comics by Oni Press (who also puts out the Scott Pilgrim books) this volume has plenty of Rick and Morty action to amuse fans of the show as the duo of grandfather and grandson discover danger and adventure in new and old dimensions alike. Also in addition to a nice gallery of alternate comic artwork we get the exclusive sound chip in the cover (where I keep the tab in the slot until I want someone to hear it) which is just Rick...
Written just like the show. You can hear the voices in your head. Must read for any Rick and Morty fan
Acceptable and entertaining at times. The writing progressively gets sharper through the series run, but it's often not as gratifying as the original TV show.
I loved this book! So similar to the show but with cool new stories. Can’t wait to read the next one.
The first 2 story arcs manage to replicate the balance of humor, grossness, and actually good science fiction from the animated series. Even without the voices, I was able to hear Rick and Morty in my head. The artwork was well matched to that of the show, being cartoony, but with good layout and pacing. The last two issues were both quite bad. Gorman should not do his own drawing, as the penultimate issue in this collection had terrible artwork, and even worse, the entire issue was nothing more...
Plot: 5/5 Characters: 4/5 World Building: 5/5Overall Enjoyment: 5/5I'm also adding some bonus points for all the bonus content included in this work. I'm giving 2 points for the 40+ pages of exclusive artwork. I'd also like to give one point for the especially creative book cover and overall aesthetic. I'm also giving one last bonus point for the cool inclusion of a soundbite voiced by the real Justin Roiland. (This book really wants to use that sound bite as a selling point. Look, it's cool but...
Compilation of the first 10 issues (or the first two paperback volumes). Fun stuff.
Book 1 of the comic book adventures of Rik and Morty. Although generally it follows the same general trends as the TV show, there are differences. The Rik here is generally much kinder than the one from the show, and shows a lot more affection for Morty. Overall, I enjoyed it.
The good:-Great dialogues, it seems like the comic characters are the show characters talking.-Two pretty solid arcs. Both got twists and turns and the things got a little darker, not at the show's level but the two story arcs are complex enough to be an introduction for the comic.-This is a good fill up for waiting to the next season of the show.-Good science concepts applied to a dark and twisted story.-A very special blumbus was great.-The extra comics that this edition has were really good.T...
funny as ever " You can't something something an omelette something eggs amirite? hahahahaha
Rick and Morty on paper features all of the comedy and none of the outrageous character voices. Yes, I'm aware this is inherent to comic books. But like, it's also kind of disappointing that they even tried to translate Rick and Morty into comics. New revenue stream, I get it, fans will lap this up. But you can only add so many "*URP*" and stutters to dialogue in an attempt to replicate the Rick patois. But, like I said, the comedy is there. The plots are fun. These are legitimately episodes of t...
After the return of season 4 episodes, I was thirsting for some Rick and Morty and found this copy sitting around in my brother's room. The writers and illustrators capture the shows characters, humor, and style in the graphic novel format, making it read like a typical Rick and Morty episode. This special edition also comes with an exclusive sound clip (Rick and Morty go meta about how it's a sound chip!), and bonus cover artwork. The volume includes The Wubba Lubba Dub Dub of Wallstreet (pars
Like Bonus TV Episodes!SO worth the R & M fans' time! Some of the stories equal or surpass the ones used on TV!
This is phenomenal in my opinion. I only just recently, (in the past month or so) got on the hype train of Rick and Morty, and let me tell you: I do not regret it in the least. The show itself is fantastic, so when I ran out of episodes, I was sad. Imagine then, my surprise and delight, when I found out three was a comic series. I started reading them, and I just couldn't stop. It was the perfect mixture of brand new adventures without copying from the show. One of the things I really liked was
Well put together anthology! The sound chip is fun (and dumb lmao) and I loooove the cover gallery at the back. The stories are weird/fun/clever and the true-to-tone writing will definitely scratch that Rick and Morty itch. Surprisingly, I actually found the art in most of the comics surprisingly lackluster in comparison to other show-to-comic series I've read, even taking into account the "stylistic suck" and simplicity of the characters. It does the job, but most has a surprisingly low level o...
