The strides Laila makes as a character in this issue are beautiful and timely.

Okay so i thought the same thing, that Laila brought Darius to idea of inventing immortality, but the god of life said otherwise. I loved how in this issue it shows that Laila is connected to Darius but not in the way of "oh i'm looking to find you to kill you" but in the sense of "i used to be the god of death and i keep finding you because your surrounded by death". and logically it's not even her fault, she's just a harbringer of death even if she lives a mortal life.
