DNF; Because getting a bj from OW while thinking of h is really romantic :)
3.5 stars! I loved the concept of a dark Peter Pan retelling, with Hook as the (anti)hero. The romance wasn't perfect but I actually had a lot of fun reading this one. Hook and Wendy were likable, though I would've loved more depth with Wendy's character. Their chemistry is great and I always appreciate an alpha, possessive hero.My biggest complaint would have to be what happens towards the end. Wendy took Hook back wayyy too easily and quickly, and there wasn't any satisfaction with what happen...
I have to be truthful here, I liked the cover and the fact that it was a retelling, so I had no idea what to expect going in. This retelling had an easy flow to it, making it a quick read for me, and although I did guess some of the plot, there were still enough plot twists to surprise me till the end.Happy Reading 📚📗📙📚📙📒📓📘📕📗📖📔📚📙📓📒📒📘📗📚📚📔📕📖📙
DNF 50%. This was bad in that specific way that just pisses you off. The characters were so FAKE and CORNY and UNREALISTIC.I'm not joking, this honest to God reminded me of the writing style in the My Immortal fanfiction by Ebony Dark’ness Dementia Raven Way, except that was satire and this isn’t lmao.
2.5 starsThis was a little bit too much instalove for my taste.
4.5 stars This was a lot more than I expected, I knew people loved it but hook and Wendy were very well done characters. Hook is the damaged/ angry at the world type of crime king pin whereas Wendy is the “innocent” daddy’s girl. Despite these stereotypes, i really love how they were approached. Wendy was yes innocent, but she stood up for herself and was tired of being treated like a doll- and she acted like it. Despite hook being hard and traumatized, he is very sweet to Wendy and also extreme...
1.25 stars ✰rip to my last few brain cells that died after I read this.

I honestly have mixed feelings because there were definitely a few things I've enjoyed, but there were also parts that annoyed the reading soul out o...
if he doesn’t cut a man’s tongue for disrespecting me i don’t want him
"And to think, it all started with a little bit of faith. Misplaced trust. Missing pixie dust. And a villain who just needed to steal a little love."Oh how I loved this dark fairytale retelling. Wendy Michaels is a naive and innocent girl before she is introduced to James "Hook" Barrie. And James is a classic anti hero who has a tough exterior based on his upbringing and a strong hatred for Wendy's father Peter. What follows is a game of cat and mouse as James pulls Wendy into his web and of cou...
Let's be frank. You know this is a dark contemporary Peterpan retelling and you still choose to read this why? Because you're in for the hot romance and so am I. It's so ironic how this book literally got me HOOKED from the start (or I'm just romance deprived, there's no in between). Emily's writing drew me in and I love the new breath of life in all the characters. I am obsessed with Peterpan and so am I enthralled with how the author attributing the original Peterpan traits into her own but at...
First half was great and interesting and addicting and dark. The second half of the story got cheesy, and eyeroll-y and stupid. And the stupidity would not end. And I’m too tired and pissed to list the stupid.
Oof this was not good. The writing was so completely cringey. Insta love to the extreme. The characters are ridiculous and shallow. And plot? Not here. Look I don't go into a dark romance for a banger plot but like there should be something compelling the story? And if it isn't relationship development (definitely not here) and it isn't plot the only thing left is sex. Which was just ok. I LOVE Captain Hook in general and he was pretty sexy here. But the rest of this was a mess.
Mafia meets fairy tale. Sounds promising, right?? On one hand it was kinda cute to see the references to Peter Pan…. But on the other hand, this was supposed to be a Dark Romance. 👀 And if you, like me, are picturing the Disney cartoon version of this story, it’s a bit difficult to make it to “dark” or “sexy”. 😬The author tried real hard to get us there. She TOLD us over and over about what a bad guy our H was… and yeah, he’s a murdery drug dealer… but it comes off as campy instead of scary. I w...
y’all i’ve been a wh*re for captain hook since once upon a time, and let’s just say after this book.. i continue to be a wh*re for captain hook. the idea of having a series of reimagined fractured fairy tails dedicated to villains getting their happy endings? yes please. and starting out with my favorite villain of all time? YES PLEASE. Hook was everything I’ve ever wanted (I did picture him as hook from OUAT the entire book btw) I loved the little bits of the original peter pan story thrown in
What a fabulously dark twisted tale this was! Hook/James was definitely villain material with alot of blood on his hands he was no dark hero for sure. He took great delight in torturing his victims and even got off on their death's. Full of vengeance and a heart that wasn't only black as sin but dead because of sexual and mental abuse that he endured til the age of 18 by his uncle until he killed him. But his vengeance isn't over. He has waited and planned to kill the man who killed his parents
YEEES! I’ve been so excited for this book and it DID NOT disappoint. James had me ✨hooked✨ from the very beginning. Wendy is an innocent character who grows so much through the book and finally learns to stand up for herself. I loved everything about this book. Both main characters had amazing character development. The spice was so great. The twists were very unexpected. The ending was absolutely perfect. Finding the little pieces that related to the original Peter Pan were like finding little
4.3/5I was “hooked” from the start 🤣🤣🤣But seriously….I finished this book in 4 hours!!!! The plot & spice were equally as good! My only complaint is that I wish the female MC was upset longer/the male MC didn’t have to ask for her forgiveness & there was no groveling:(Over all I really liked it :)
2.5 starsThis is a dark romance inspired by Peter Pan and I was so excited to read this. I've heard great things and I love dark romances. Unfortunately, it really felt like this was trying too hard to be a dark romance. It had all of the right "things" but they felt very surface level and I couldn't really fall in love with the romance. Hook is a crime boss and he hates Peter, who hurt people he loved. To get back at Peter, he decides to go after Wendy, Peter's daughter, and have a relationship...
