Woooow! This is so much better than Hazelwood series! This is the best thing Melissa Albert has written! Actually this is the most mind blowing story about the witches I’ve lately read! Creepy, disturbing, intriguing, exciting, slow burn mystery, and impeccably built, layered character development, well- thrown twists, lots of spells, darkness, heartbreaking teen love story: this book includes all of those amazing qualities, storylines you may fully enjoy! Let’s get quick recap of storyline: af...
This book was unique and creepy! Compared to the movie The Craft, there are definitely elements that can be found in this book. I found I enjoyed Dana’s chapters more than Ivy’s. The rabbits freaked me out but I really enjoyed this book, it was so different from everything I’ve been reading lately. It begins with Ivy and her boyfriend who almost drive off the road when they spot a nude woman running in the street. Ivy follows her and is surprised this stranger knows her name. It only gets crazier...
i’d like to thank netgalley, flatiron books, and melissa albert for an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review! this book follows ivy and her mother dana as ivy begins to learn more about her mother’s past. albert truly wrote the perfect witchy book full of twists and turns that kept me intrigued the entire time. it's haunting, sinister, and gruesome - i absolutely loved it.i was a bit surprised at how much i liked this book because i thought it would fit more into the YA category, but...
a kaleidoscopic masterpiece that put me in a chokehold from dark beginning to sinister end. the prose in this crawls under your skin and attaches itself to you. Consistently terrifying, and occasionally delightful, this novel is pure dark magic, and I want to know what spell Albert placed on the readers - wow oh wow
I'm getting some witchy dark academia vibes from this >:D
Ruthlessly enticing, Our Crooked Hearts is a story about fierce magic and even fiercer young women. It caught me in its web and held on tight. This book pulses with a bewitching darkness, and I loved it.

there comes a time in every reader's life when you have to make a tough decision...whether to add a book to your to-read list even though you hate the cover.this is my act of bravery.
Can I give this more stars?! Damn.I received this as an advance copy from Edelweiss for an honest review.I could NOT put this book down. This is the dark, witchy book I've been looking for. I love the adult perspective, as well. This is so important as teen readers have a relationship with adults and sometimes it's hard to navigate. Seeing that in these pages gives them a chance to relate. I was constantly guessing at what was going to happen next and was not able to predict the ending. A wonder...
I LOVED this book! It has all of Melissa Albert’s signature dark, teenage girl feels mixed with a more traditional-feeling witch story. But the brilliance of this particular novel is the back and forth in time as the story connects more and more until it’s climactic and surprising end.I love how Albert created a dynamic, interesting, and mysterious mother/daughter relationship story, one that doesn’t have to have a cozy ending. This book was spooky, it was exciting, it had me on my toes! Loved i...
This book gave me The Craft vibes but it was somehow creepier. I loved the magic both beautiful and dark. The story is told in two timelines the present focuses on 17 year old Ivy whose summer starts with a bizarre encounter when her boyfriend almost hits a naked woman who dashed in front of their car. The second timeline is the past when Ivy’s mother Dana was a teenager and discovered magic. The story unfolded in a fun way and was filled with dark twists. This is a story of magic and betrayal a...
Dang I really just love Melissa Albert books.
There main word that comes to mind when reading this book is: fury. This is a book of furious girls who become furious women. It’s a book of love and betrayal and revenge and, finally, the wonders and horrors that come when you manifest that fury into reality. And, oh, I enjoyed it.References to The Craft are apt, but it’s really its own book. The dual timelines are well written, but it was definitely the older timeline that captured my attention.A good book and well worth the read!*ARC via Publi...
