Joanie & Her Patchwork Friends

Joanie & Her Patchwork Friends

Mike Morales
0/5 ( ratings)
Joanie has a dream. As a little doll who was made without a right hand, she is thrown away like trash. But she knows that she can be a good friend to a special little girl, if only she can find her!
Joanie meets three other dolls who also have physical differences which they think makes them unworthy of the love of a child. But Joanie knows better, and she convinces them that they can find children to love.
Join Joanie and her friends, Timmy, Carrie and Freddie as they begin an adventurous journey through dangerous territory to find those special children who will love them unconditionally. Their path is not an easy one as they encounter unfriendly and friendly characters, all of whom make them determined to realize their dreams.
This is a story book which is meant to be read to children from ages 2 to 7 by parents and teachers. It addresses bullying and acceptance of those with differences. Our story is meant to help not only children with differences, but also those “normal” children who don’t understand the isolation any kind of difference can cause in the life of a precious child.
Children need to be taught compassion and acceptance of others with physical and emotional differences. As the Bible teaches us in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old, he will not depart from it”. Therefore, we feel it is vital to begin teaching these concepts to children when they are young and open to new ideas.
Joanie, Timmy, Freddie and Carrie thank you for your help in educating the next generation!
