The Out of the Blue anthology series brings together independent comic book creators from around the world to collaborate on short works featuring a strange theme. Shorts appearing in past anthologies have gone on to become graphic novels and comic series through various publishers.

A Kickstarter pre-sale campaign is scheduled to run throughout the entire month of April. The campaign will offer the standard paperback retail edition of Colossal Chaos as well as a Kickstarter exclusive hardcover featuring wraparound cover art by Kelly Williams . Funds from the pre-sale will be used to provide copies of the anthology to the creators who appear in it.

As with past installments of Out of the Blue, a portion of the proceeds from sales of the Out of the Blue anthology series goes to the Comic Book Project, a child literacy program that uses comic creation as a learning tool.
