Another decent entry into the deathlands series. Lots of mutants, shooting, and odd ball survivalists.
The fourth book shows our merry band of wayfarers still finding new and bewildering things in the Deathlands that I sure they would not rather have found in the first place. But they have the strangest way of becoming the savior's of the planet and they do not even know it most of the time.
More anal weapon description banging grunting groaning splatting moaning screaming shouting zap kapow cheesy aural goodness from the ongoing journal of the Deathlands. Sweet. Or should that be savoury?
This installment in the deathlands serious was a fun run through a society that devalues woman and overprizes cleanliness and strict rules. It phased into a forward looking, sckewed view of destruction as the only solution to worldwide calamity. It's a fun read with the usual bloodshed and action I have come to expect from Deathlands.
Another romp through the post-apocalyptic world of Deathlands. Though I enjoyed this one a bit more than the previous one, I probably won't bother to make comments on future volumes. The stories so far have been enjoyable - worth reading - but they very much read like they're based on someone's RPG campaign. Not so much that there's anything wrong with that, just doesn't make for much that's noteworthy. So, I'll just keep reading until I get tired of the series - I mean, there are 125 of them. A...
These books are definitely formulaic after a few but that doesn't dispel the fun of listening to the graphic audio editions. Just to hear the action and craziness and wild characters. There is some level of continuation but it's like an action adventure TV show. I'll be tuning in next week for the next edition for sure.
If long winded weapon descriptions are your thing maybe this is for you.
Almost 2 years to the day that I last read Neutron Solstice and I’m back in the Deathlands series.Admittedly, I never planned on taking such a long hiatus from this batch of books, but life got in the way, I moved on to other genres and authors, and forgot about them...and Neutron was a bit of let down which made for a good reason to take a break. But anyways, the 4th book of the “Axlerverse” gets the series right back on track, proving yet again that the Gold Eagle imprint of Harlequin Romance b...
My favourite episode of the deathlands to date.
I'm a masochist, must be the reason I keep reading these...
It was ok. Nothing that really stands out. Some of the more racy scenes felt completely gratuitous.
An average apocalyptic adventure story. This one takes a century after the last war and now there are mutants running around the earth. Recommended
I really enjoy this series, but the books are difficult to find.Post Apocalyptic setting with scifi elements, I really like the few of these books I've been able to find.
