This was a bit of an odd book for me in that I did enjoy it and wanted to know what was going to happen next, but there were a number of problems with it throughout that took the edge off.The characters were fairly 2d cliches and there were a number of clunky information dumps to fill out where the world was, why the main protagonists were like they were - I would have preferred it if the author had had a bit more faith in his abilities and just let the important bits come out through the book (...
