INK BRICK is a journal of poetry comics founded by coeditors Paul K. Tunis, Alexander Rothman, Gary Sullivan, and Bianca Stone. A biannual, 48-page print edition showcases original work by the cofounders and a rotating selection of guest artists. This website features additional creative work and criticism.
As comics’ literary and artistic worth have won widespread recognition, cartoonists are increasingly free to push formal and expressive boundaries. The coeditors aren’t interested in proscriptive definitions of poetry comics, but seek to foster work that explores those liminal spaces between the drawn image and the written word.
Featuring original work by:
John Hankiewicz
Simone Kearney
Simon Moreton
L. Nichols
Alexander Rothman
