This book is a good overview of the life of a Henry Ford, who he was and his accomplishments. I read this to my boys and I also learned a lot. I of course knew what he accomplished and that he was friends with Thomas Edison (I knew that from reading “Who Was Thomas Edison”). But I did not realize some of the controversial things surrounding Ford such as his writing articles about his anti Semitic views in the newspaper he purchased. A very educational read.

The only reason I picked up this book because it had the last name "Ford". My dad has the ford F350 so I wanted to read about how he made the cars and he owned a compey and they make ford cars, Ford make's The model T and the model A and more. He liked to have fun and he agreed on other people's things like his friend was Thomas Edison and they worked as a team ( some times).

Henry Ford was a very mechanically inclined person who knew how to take care of his employees and business. He began as a young boy understanding the mechanics of watches and grew to an adult who is best known for the Model T automobile. He was also a collector of items. This book informs the reader of his many accomplishments, some failures and the life of this famous man.

I bought this book when I went to The Henry Ford Museum so I could add it to my Who Was collection. 105 pages. Great biography on a man who was great with building cars and fixing watches. I learned a lot about this inventor and his times. It includes information on Thomas Edison, the First Race, Ford’s Competitors, Car Culture, as well as sketches and maps. These were helpful as a reader in understanding the events and times in which he lived. Highly recommended for Grades 4-5.

I always buy these books when we travel as a family and read them out loud. In this case, we were visiting Greenfield Village and The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation-- You learn a lot at those places, but these books are great at telling us more personal history of their subjects. "Who Was Henry Ford?" by Micheal Burgan is a biography about the famous car maker Henry Ford. It describes how Ford revolutionized the car forever.I liked the book because I am interested in cars. It was interesting reading about the guy how started it all. Once I started reading I couldn't stop.I would reccomend this book to 5th to 8th graders. If you are interested in cars then you will like this book. If you enjoy other "Who Was?" books you will like this one too.
