Dug the cute Keffy Kehrli story, the Ken Liu, the Charlie Jane Anders, and the Gaiman reprint.
At first I felt this issue was going to disappoint me. But after reading the stories that followed the kickstarter inspired, help fund my robot army, I was shaking my head. It couldnt be that bad. Then Ken Liu's story helped build it back up again. And then it ended with the five deaths of Marvin dimitri, Charlie Jane Anders story of The Master Conjurer, and then a Neil Gaiman reprint it helped me easily decide that this was a stellar issue.
Loved the wit of this story.
Always enjoy the author spotlight section. Stories by Keffy R.M. Kehrli, Constance Cooper and Ken Liu were my favourites. Or favorites if you are my macbook
Here, Anders gives us an alternate reality where spells work - but always have unpredictable and negative side effects. When a rumor gets out that an ordinary guy has successfully completed a spell with no ill effects, he achieves local celebrity - to his consternation. A fun little story.
Original science fiction:"HELP FUND MY ROBOT ARMY!!!" by Keffy R.M. Kehrli - hilarious idea, and it's going to be part of a new anthology (funded through Kickstarter, of course -- I just contributed)."Ghost Days" by Ken Liu - I always like Ken Liu's stories and this is no exception. Issues of race and generational differences, well told.Original fantasy:"The Five Deaths of Marvin Dimitri" by Dylan Otto Krider - very short piece about a guy who won't stay dead. Nice."The Master Conjurer" by Charl...
I really liked the story and I liked Peter as a character. Hmm perhaps he should talk to Emmet Brickowski (from the lego movie). And I recommending reading it.Read my full review here: http://wp.me/p40HVI-ko
