Although it has a tie in and connection between Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War, this definitely was NOT a must-read. The key aspects to it (if any) were the Warlock and the Infinity Watch issues, as those show how Adam Warlock handles the power of the Gauntlet and Infinity Stones as appearing at the end of Infinity Gauntlet. However, the Silver Surfer issues (while good) didn't really seem to be necessary reading for the overarching story, nor did the Dr. Strange story. All said, you could ge...
I am continuing down the path of reading all 18 books in the "Infinity Gauntlet" series and this is book #5. The first half off the book focuses on Adam Warlock and the Infinity Watch but the second half was disappointing. The second half was just content taken from book #4 which is mostly about the Silver Surfer. I can see how all of it is starting to tie in but can't figure out why repeating the same stories from book #4 in book #5.
"Aftermath" as in "let's milk it for all we can". Mediocre art work and stories. Lots of Silver Surfer issues thrown in as filler (nothing to do with Infinity Gauntlet or Thanos). Infinity Watch is practically a spoof.
The first half is much better than the second, but the second half doesn't feel that on point. At the start of the book, Adam Warlock has the Infinity gauntlet. The different cosmic beings come together to try and force it off him, but they can't really since he is so powerful. In the end, Adam yields and decides to entrust one Infinity Gem to six different people, The Infinity Watch. It takes some time for them together, but it's an interesting idea, and "origin" for a team. It certainly left m...

Infinity Gauntlet was a groundbreaking addition to the Marvel Comics mega events catalog, so inevitably, we couldn't keep ourselves from knowing what happened after such story. Adam Warlock now has the full power of the Infinity Gems, after defeating Thanos, so now he has to maintain that power to himself without any sorts of misuse of the same, so now he believes he isn't worthy to carry with all the power of the universe. In Aftermath, as well, we get to see an alternative subsequent story reg...
The Silver Surfer and Doctor Strange which start off this volume each contain good epilogues to the Infinity Gauntlet, but the real story starts afterward ...Warlock & The Infinity Watch (1-6) forms the first half of this book, and it's rather delightful. It's great seeing Starlin play with the Cosmic side of the Marvel Universe, while also touching upon space civilizations. However the real story here goes to the heart of Warlock's background, and it's an interesting return to topics from a few...
The cringiest scene was Silver Surfer making out with his doppleganger to merge as one.
It took me a while to read...but it was a good book, got some SS issues and that's a good thing also the infinity watch was a good read, but overall it's not something you really need to read after IG. I would recommend but more to completists.
Ok. This collection was bad. I'm talking "Force myself to finish it" bad. The first two issues of Infinity Watch are ok. As far as dealing with the aftermath of Infinity Gauntlet these are really the only ones that directly address it. Adam Warlock is put on trial by Eternity. He claims that Warlock is no fit to wield the Gauntlet. There are some cool moments here. The Living Tribunal stopping Warlocks tantrum with a snap of his fingers, Warlocks mice drop when he leaves, the foreshadowing of th...
The aftermath, even longer than the event! This collection included 7.5 Silver Surfer issues, 6 Warlock and the Infinity Watch, and 1 Dr. Strange. While they were all pretty good, the Silver Surfer issues didn't actually deal with Infinity Gauntlet that much. The Dr. Stange issue was insane and almost terrifying. And the Infinity Watch was great.
Not the greatest collection. The Silver Surfer issues don't really belong in this collection. The Infinity Watch issues are nice but don't really add much to the story of the Infinity Gauntlet. This is really only for die-hard fans that MUST read the aftermath of the I.G. story.
This was a good lull in a larger story. The stuff where Warlock turns to his roots and battles some boring Wolfman? Snooze City. The possibility (I think never realized) that Starlin woudl try out some different characters? Interesting.
This was a great collection of comics detailing the aftermath of the Infinity Gauntlet event. I especially enjoyed the Doctor Strange part, because (1) it's Doctor Strange; (2) it shows his relationships with Clea, Wong, his brother (whom I met for the first time), and his other friends; and (3) of how he dissuaded Adam Warlock from abusing his infinite power and how he persuaded Warlock to preserve the cosmic balance in the universe. I think I also fell in love with the Silver Surfer. The Adam
I pushed through the Adam Warlock entries as they were not as engaging. However I loved the Silver Surfer issues. This obviously is not as good as the Infinity Gauntlet, but cool to see the aftermath.
It was alright, half way through the book when the story veered off into the weird depths of space and back to the story of the aftermath of the battle with Thanos that's when it got interesting again. The Infinity War book is up next.
When I started this I was pretty excited to read about Adam Warlock and how he dealt with his new powers. His choices for distributing the stones are interesting and are brave choices even by his own thoughts as the people chosen are weak. But after that six or seven issues of silver Surfer are included which are also the same issues included in the Silver Surfer Epic Collection that is part of the suggested reading for the Infinity series. Why suggest books that have duplicated issues? Especial...
This book is what ever. 25% of it is Silver Surfer realizing he is a terrible person, 25% of it is politics and boring stuff, 25% of it is a fucking brat flirting with silver surfer, 24% of it is us wondering who the fuck Warlock gave his cool item to, which we don't even find out in this book, and 1% of it is Warlock realizing he is probably about to end the entire fucking world. 3 stars.
2,5 actually. aftermath of the Infinity Gauntlet. Not as good as that book. the Silver surfer part is a bit nicer then the Adam warlock part. But I did still enjoy it.
