"Buckle Up Campers! This SciFi space adventure keeps you on the edge of your seat till the very end." Mike P.
With two intergalactic wars under his belt, Captain Francis Miller retired from the 23rd StarBorne, battle-tested and battle-weary. Fast forward ten years, he’s now a civilian and co-owner of Miller’s Frontier Junkets. His pride and joy, Joan of Arc, is a newly refurbished military corvette, offering exclusive paid junket excursions out to Foreland-Tanzania Sector—a star system just recently designated as a protected wild alien game preserve.
But Miller’s next junket is already hitting a bumpy road. His business partner and on-again-off-again girlfriend, Tanya St. James, has walked away from their relationship. Undeterred, Miller and crew have set off on a land excursion deep into Bastiel-6 World’s wilderness, where scientists, journalists, and a less-than-scrupulous billionaire are chafing at the bit to reach the infamous Valerian Caverns, where a subterranean scientific anomaly resides. It’s not lost on Miller that everyone has their own hidden agenda.
Soon, the wheels come off the proverbial cart. Between despicable wildlife poachers, vicious alien creature attacks, and what may be a serial killer among them, Miller’s latest junket looks to be on a one-way ticket to total catastrophe. Turning back would be the obvious solution, but he’s just learned that two of his own have been kidnapped. If they turn back, they die.
Best Fun Adventure Science Fiction Book of 2023!
I love Mark Wayne McGinnis. His latest book, Junket—Untamed Alien Worlds may be my favorite so far. I say 'may' because he's written something like 40 books and I love them all. Scrapyard Ship, Star Watch, Ship Wrecked, The Fallen Ship, USS Hamilton... all his books are unique—the opposite of cookie-cutter. Love the action and his detailed characterizations. - KM
Space Opera Adventure at its Best.
What a fun ride this was. It's difficult for me to explain how much I love this book, but I will try. I am talking for the POV of someone who appreciates BV Lason and Craig Alanson. Mark has the humor, the right amount of techie scifi, and multi-dimensional characters - that makes his books a hoot to read. Plus, I don't know how he comes up with such whacky and entertaining scenarios, but hats off to his creativity, Pure genius. - Casey
Space Exploration.
With Junket—Untamed Alien Worlds, Mark Wayne McGinnis goes beyond what other authors do. Mark has the humor, but he also comes up with these out-of-this-world ideas that come off as believable. USS Hamilton was my favorite military science fiction book , but Junket is my favorite fun adventure scifi book. Keep 'em coming, and I will keep reading. - Darren
Junket—Untamed Alien Worlds.
This book for MWM deserves 10 out of 5 stars. Why? You really have to read it to understand. It is pure entertainment from page one to the end. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was exciting and the characters really left an impression on me. It's military science fiction, space exploration, alien invasion, and fun adventure scifi - all wrapped up into one rollicking fantastic book. Do yourself a favor and buy it, read it, and then read it again.
Amazing Military Science Fiction.
I just finished reading the USS Hamilton series of books - when is the next installment of the series, by the way??? But I was pleasantly surprised by MWM's latest book, Junket- Untamed Alien World
